Hello all

Please advice on reliable model of BOOTABLE PCI SATA card. Need to upgrade older system with XP pro.

Just remember to either slipstream the drivers into your Windows XP disc, or have a floppy drive with drivers on them.

I'd recommend a Silicon Image controller. Many generic cards are available but you can't go too far wrong with a Rosewill so check out chiefvalue and newegg for the configuration required (internal and external ports and so on).

Do you know that your BIOS can accept a BIOS extension from the card's on-board BIOS so that booting form a HDD attached to that card is allowed? You need a controller card that supports this, all right, but you also need a mobo BIOS that works with that card design.
