"Bootable from USB" USB memory sticks

i see some USB memory sticks/flash drives advertise "Bootable from USB." Does this require any special BIOS support?

Yes, your bios must suppor this boot option.

Cool, I never knew you could boot from USB, so does this mean DOS can recognize USB?

As stated previously, it depends completely on your mobo.

I was able to boot from my Epox 8KHA+ using Compact Flash card.

We have a 1 gig usb stick here at work, we tried to boot to windows from it, but it gave us the bsod. Booting to dos is not problem.
