Bootable CD problems on ABIT KT7 mobo's???

I installed my own Abit KT7 mobo with a 800mhz AMD chip about a year ago and everything on it seems to be working just right, with the exception of some minor USB problems, however, even when i go into BIOS and change the book order to CD-ROM 1st it still WILL NOT boot from my CD-ROM it goes straight to the hard disk or floppy drive, what can I do to fix this??

I wish to format my C: drive clean and do a fresh install of Win XP, but before I do it, I tested the CD ( or any "bootable" CD) and they just get skipped!

if anyone can help, thanks a lot!

This is actually pretty simple. Abit is notorius for this. Even though your boot order is "CDROM, C, A" or something like that, Abit's still won't boot to the CD-Rom because it doesn't "see" it. What you need to do also, is set the channel that the CD-Rom is on to Auto. So if your CD-Rom is on Secondary Channel, Master, set it to Auto so it gets detected on every POST. Then the next time you reboot, the boot order will take effect and you will boot to the cd.
