I'm not really interested in the fancy GUI setup (actually prefer the text-based UI anyhow), but what advantages does UEFI have from a practical point-of-view?
Might have misread an article a few months ago, it stated UEFI (BIOS replacement) is supposed to have instant boot times onto the OS, however this isn't totally accurate after reading some posts from users that have installed this setup.
Where are we at... does it have scope for instant boot? what is stopping its progress? or is it not going to happen in the foreseeable future?
