Boot up probs

When i try to boot up my comp i can hear two or three quick beeps and i get no video, but when i keep trying and turning back on my computer it finally starts up.. does anyone know what the prob is and how i can get my comp to boot up on the first try??

You'd really need to look up those beep codes in the manual to your BIOS.. For example, Award has their beep codes documented on their web site. They range from "beep" to "beeeeep - beep - beeeeep" 🙂

In your case, I would check connections of all peripherals, drives, cards, then go into BIOS and restore default settings.

I've had this problem before and it came out to be a PSU problem. If you let us know what system you have maybe we can narrow the problem down.

thx for the replys so far... just to give you an idea of what system i have that could pinpoint the prob..

I WILL KK266 mobo
1.2 266 fsb AMD athlon
maxtor diamond plus 40 Gig HD
maxtor (older HD) 7 GIG
PCDVD Encore 12X Creative Rom
Crucial Ram pc133 256

Is the Iwill mobo known for these probs?? maybe i can try fixing it, but im still not sure what to do.

Oh yeah, i have an enlight 7327 (50$ at newegg) case w/ the 300 watt power supply.. i dont think the case is the prob becase it did the same thing with my old case as well.

what does that mean "grounding of motherboard"??? how does it start? can it be prevented?? and is there any way i can fix it?

Disconnect the 7GB HDD and CD-Rom while troubleshooting. When you're able to boot check the 5.0V reading on your system monitor. Ensure the 5.0V reading is at least equal to or greater than 4.95V. If it's less than this, then the problem is mostly PSU. If the system still will not boot regularly, disconnect all except for the Video card, Ram and HSF. If it still will not boot regularly, unmount the mobo and place it over a carton board. This will ensure there is no grounded part on the mobo. Try again. If it still would not boot regularly, it could be a bios problem. Check for an updated bios.
