Boot-up problems with mainboard

I have this weird problem with my mainboard. When I first turn on the system, nothing comes up. I need to do a warm reset via the reset button on the case before the system will post. The system runs fine except for that problem. The board is a Jetway 720AF Slot 1 mainboard with Sis 620 chipset. Onboard shared video and sound. Pentium II 266 processor. Funny thing is, if I put in a Pentium 3 450 processor the system boots up the first time without requiring a warm reset. Any ideas what the problem might be? I flash to the latest bios already. Some early Pentium-II processor units don't work on non-Intel chipsets unless they get a double reset.
This is a long known (and long forgotten ) problem. Design flaw, conspiracy, whatever, it is like it is,
no way around it other than putting these units into boards where they work.

Thanks for the info. I never heard of this problem. I always assummed that the P2 would work on anything since they would have time to fix any problems.
