Win 2000 is giving boot up problem. It says unable to load personal settings.. may be corrupt.. contact system administrator. And then it load the start up screen as if i am booting up for the first time after the os is loaded. Is it some problem with hard drive that it can't read a sector where the settings is stored? or th file got corrupt? What can be done to rectify this?

i dont know too much about that problem, but have you tried the ERD? Emergency Repair Disk

that *might* be able to help you
