Boot up problem

Hi
I had 2 hard drives in my case both with XP installed on them.
I did a quick format on one drive .
Now when I boot up I get a message saying missing files.
If I unplug the hard drive that I formatted and boot up I get a screen asking me what OS I want .
So some were in my pc there is a record of 2 OS.How can I Change this .
