boot up problem

tried to turn on the computer this morning and it wouldnt boot up. it would power up, the HD light would be on, CD and DVD drives would boot. then nothing happens. everything is still on, but the screen is blank and the boot up doesnt continue. i turn off the comp and tried it again...and again. third time it worked and a message showed up saying that there was an "overclocking failure." but i didnt overclock anything. gave me F1 and F2 options. F2 took me into BIOS. i looked around it to see if everything was in place and they were- then set Default SEttings and exited. i originally had it boot the DVD drive first. comp booted right up normally.

any idea why that happened? i was thinking it might be the mobo or HD. mobo is asus p4p800 and HD Is western digital.

thanks,
alex
