Ok, here's the issue. Yesterday, everything was fine... hunky-dory. I get a new hard drive and take out an older, much smaller hdd. I put in the new one, and when i go to reboot, i get a "Failed to load Operating System". Not that big of a problem, so I put in my XP install disc and do a quick repair of the OS. Well, that didn't do the trick.
So what I do is take out my OS hard drive and put it in as a slave in a different computer. When I boot up and run some diagnostics, I get a message saying that the hard drive is high risk of failure. Ok, so I basically chuck that hard drive.
So with the new hard drive, I put it in my main rig as master and load up the OS. When the install program needs to reboot, I get the same message "Failed to load Operating System". OH CRAP!!
Anyone else have a problem like this before?
Some details about my computer
Mobo: Chaintech VNF3-250, socket 756
Processor: AMD Sempron 3100+
RAM: Corsair value select 512 MB (1 chip)
Hard Drive: Maxtor 200gb
DVD-RW: NEC
Video Card: GeForce 5700LE (don't laugh)
Anyone have any tips?
