Boot Times on Asus A7V?

Is there any reason why my boot times would get longer over time? Any questions about my system you can see in my rig page. When I first put the UATA100 drive on here, I was booting at about 1:20. W/out the Win98 logo I'd get about 55 secs. Now I'm taking 1:45!!!??? I have not installed anything that edited my autoexec.bat and config.sys files. I just double checked them to see if there is anything in them and there is not. So why in God's name would I be taking so damn long? My a7v bios is 1005c so the promise build is 33, should I flash to 1005d to get promise build 35? Thanx aheada time.
