I just did a fresh install of windows. The time it take BEFORE I get the boot screen of windows XP has increased ALOT after I installed one of two things, I can't remember which, eaither the nforce chipset drivers or the video card drivers. Nothing else was changed, the bios settings were not toched. It literally takes 10-15 seconds before my computer will go from a blank screen with a flashing cursor to the windows boot screen. I have no idea why this would happen I wouldn't think that windows is even loaded before the boot screen so I don't understand how a driver would increase that part of booting...
