Boot-time DVD player software?

I have a media PC I just really use to watch movies at the moment. Anyone have any experience or know of any software that will allow me simply to boot into video (DVD) playing software without having to boot into Windows? I know such things exist, and I know it's possible to make DVDs with this type of software intalled to boot, but I'd rather not have to rip/burn all my movies.
