Boot stalled at "SCSI BIOS installed successfully!" after BH6_SS bios flash?

I flashed my 2940U2W Adaptec Host Adapter successfully to the latest bios and booted to WIN98SE. I downloaded the latest AWDFLASH.EXE and the BH6_SS.bin file and successfully flashed the BH6 1.0. I then cleared the CMOS via jumpers. The system boots fine until I reach the SCSI installation section which recognizes all my SCSI devices(Plextor UW, Plextor 12/4/32, Onstream SC30, & the IBM 18ZX). System halted after the "SCSI BIOS installed successfully!" message. What are my options? I have searched relentlessly for the better part of 4 hours with no results. Should I format my drive via the SCSI select utility or is there a conflict with my bios settings? Any suggestions would be honored. Are there issues with the BH6_SS bios update that I should know about? This system has been working fine for more than 1.5 years. I only wanted to flash the bios to upgrade the cpu in the future. Now it seems I am stuck with the new bios since I cannot access the HD.

I finally figured it out!!! Yet, I find this particular problem amusing to the point of absurdity!:) My Primary Master setting was set to auto for my installed Iomega Zip drive and this particular setting was stalling the boot process! Whew! I am glad it was so simple! Note to self: "Don't panic, just pick up a book and dive in!" I hope someone else will find this information useful.

So back to the secondary master with the Iomega Zip drive and everything is A OK! I guess the new BH6_SS bios will not allow the Iomega zip to be on the primary master even though the older BH6_LN bios would allow this. I am not certain but I do know that the older scsi bios version and the LN bios on the BH6 would allow these setting to coexist and still boot to the scsi hd.
