Boot setting of HD in Asus A8v Delux BIOS

In the BIOS > Boot > Boot Device Priority

I only find options for floppy disk and IDE HD. If I want to install XP on the SATA drive and start system from that SATA disk, how shall I do? Thanks.

When you install XP on a SATA drive you need to grab the drivers for it off of Asus' disc. I have the same motherboard and it wasn't difficult at all. I forget exactly which ones to use but i think there are two or 3 different drivers, depending on which controller you have your drive plugged into. If you use the via controller use the via drivers. There is a make disk icon you can use. When you begin your installation of windows you will see a prompt to press F6, press it and you can install its drivers and you will boot from your harddrive automatically.

I think I am using VIA SATA controller.

From Asus download page, I found following downloads related with VIA:

(1) VIA VT6420 (VT8237) SATA RAID Driver Package Version 2.20D WHQL.
I am using 2 SATA hard drives independently, not in raid, so I guess this is not useful for me.

(2) VIA 4 in 1 driver Package Service v4.49P3
Looks the extracted files are executable files running under windows. So where is the driver for DOS mode running? I suppose the floppy disk driver used for Window installation shouls be DOS application.
