Hey everyone,

I have Windows 7 as my OS, and I've played around in my BIOS a few times here and there, but it seems that every time that I reboot my computer, my USB external hard drives are prioritized over my IDE hard drives in the boot sequence.

Consequently my machine reboots itself time after time in the boot sequence until I disconnect the external hard drives... How do I fix this?

It ought to be an option in your BIOS, such as 'HDD Boot Sequence" or something similar. How to navigate through your BIOS, though, depends on the brand/etc of your motherboard.

Bladen's response covers it. You need to go into the bios and hunt for the proper setting to adjust to. That said, if you don't have a boot sector on your USB drives, most BIOS's will jump onto the next drive the system sees to find something to start the system up with.

Who makes your board, which board do you have and when was the last time you verified you had the most upto date BIOS installed?
