"Boot sector not found" error every other time I boot my laptop

I keep getting this error when I boot up my laptop. If I reboot it a few times I can get it to go into Windows, but it's been happening more often lately.

Do you suppose my HD is going bad or hopefully the connection is just loose?

 
try running a diagnostics program to determine if your hd is about to die...

your laptop manufacturer should have some sort of utility to do this, if not then maybe you can use a diagnostics utility provided by the manufacturer of the hd.
