Hey, I replaced the ntoskrnl.exe and loginui.exe with different ones that i downloaded from themexp.org

however, on my other computer it worked fine. on this computer, after making the changes in safe mode, the boot screen will work fine and then the login screen wont show and it will just keep restarting

how do i make windows start up? PLEASE HELP!

thank you so much

Boot using the WinXP CD and go to the Recovery Console.

Get a good version of those files from another computer and just use some good old DOS commands to replace your bad ones. It should be in the folder %WINDOWS%\System32 folder.

Also, note that WinXP and WinXP SP1 have different ntoskrnl.exe's. I've tried a few and they worked. I've also tried a few more and they haven't worked!
