Boot screen like the Win98 CD Bootup... Only EVERY TIME??

Hey,

This is actually a friend's problem that I told I'd see if I could find out what's wrong with... Wow, that sentance didn't make sense...

Anyhow, my friend's computer boots up to the screen that says something like:

Boot with CD-ROM support
Boot without CD-ROM support
Readme? or something else I think

It's not the typically screen that you'd get by hitting F8 or whatever other key brings up the boot selection when you interrupt a normal bootup. It's the one you'd get when you boot from the CD-ROM with a Win95/98 CD (not sure on 95 though?). The first thing I checked obviously was to see if the CD was actually IN there, but it's not. So other than that I don't know what todo. There's nothing "wrong" with it, other than the trouble of selecting an option everytime he turns it on...

Any ideas of something I could try to fix this problem? Thanx so very much!

Did your friend have the boot disk floppy in the drive at the time? That would bring up that sscreen. If not, that seems very strange to me. Try looking in the bios, and finding the selection for boot sequence. Maybe the C drive is not selected for bootup.
