I haven't been able to use my floppy drive on my acer 75mhz for quite a while. I tried to fix it today by restoring my bios settings to "system default" Now I get this message every time I boot up:
Diskette drive a error
diskette driva a type mismatch
on board serial port 1 conflict
equipment configuration error

then at the bottom it says press cltrl_alt_esc to enter setup and f1 to continue

f1 used to work for me, but now everytime I hit that option I get this message:
insert system diskette and press <enter> keyt to reboot

which is kind of a problem since my floppy drive doesn't work

Any advice???

heh well it's my old old computer...I have my own p3 600 (slow too, soon to be upgraded though) . I messed around with the security settings for com serial port 1, tried a few different settings and voila! windows booted up again. Still can't get the floppy to work, but this is a start.
