Hi
Bit of an unfortunate problem. I was browsing web pages on my pc one day, and the screen suddenly lost video signal, as in the screen went blank.
I rebooted the machine, but the machine now refuses to post. On a rare occasion it will make it past the post screen but will freeze before loading anything associated with the os.
I have swapped out the cpu and video card with older componants that are known to be working and they havent changed the situation. I havent yet changed out the ram.
The system has had a new processor (opty 170) added within the last week but, using an older working processor (64 , 3200+) doesnt help out the problem. Te error codes present on the motherboards vary, but tend towards "C0" which as far as I can tell implicates a motherboard error.
Specs are : Opty 170, @ 2.5 , stable tested prime 95
2gb ram
x800pro @ 560 core
Motherboard: Abit Av8
The overclocks are well stress tested over 48 hours and stable.
So far I can only guess that the motherboard is the culprit.
Any ideas and opinions would be appreciatiated.
Thanks in advance!
