Abit KT7
Duron 600@850
128 megs generic PC100
WD 13.6 7200rpm HD

When I first built this computer, it booted flawlessly. Now, it rarely will POST on a cold boot. If I hit reset once, though, it typically boots correctly. More recently though, I have noticed that I have to hit reset 3 or 4 times before it will POST and boot. What could be causing this? It seems to be getting worse.
Thank you,

Otis

I would suspect a Virus, Hybris maybe. Update your virus scanner to the newest update and have a look.

Edit: Clock the machine down to default the overclock may have killed or wounded the Hard Drive

Probably the mobo, it is a POS in my experience... Generic RAM is not as good as branded RAM, but i doubt that that is the problem, the HDD is a WD, i do NOT like WD, i think that WD drives are probably the worst, but that is not the problem either... i think it is the motherboard...

But check the PSU out, are there any problems, maybe you could try another PSU?
