Boot Problem with USB Drive

Dr J

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my external hard drive. I'm currently running two, sata, 74 gb Raptors, in raid 0 and whenever I try to connect my WD My Book Pro, via USB cable, the computer halts on boot, with the message: Boot Disk Error; will not load Windows, XP Pro.

I assume the motherboard gets confused about which drive to boot from? Is there a solution for this problem?

I have an Asus A7N8X-DX mother board, with two sata raptors in raid 0, with the latest bios. This board was very popular in its day, about five years ago. I have two gigs of cas 2.5 matched ram and a 3200+ cpu @ 2.3 ghz.

I've tried to manipulate the bios settings and boot sequence, but to no avail. Am I missing something?

PLEASE, if you can, any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

John
