Boot problem :-S

hi guys, this is my first post so i hope you can help me thanks in advance for taking the time to read this

okay i have a msi k7t266 pro 2 (raid) that i got from my friend a while back...
athlonx 1.3 ghz
i'm using 3 256 crucial ram sticks pc 2700
a msi ti-4200 128 mb video card
sound blaster 16 pci
dlink de-528 net work card
lg 52x burner
80 gig maxtor 7200 drive


okay basically the problem is this.. i wanted to use this board because i had more ram for it then with my other p4 rambus board...

my sisters were using thisboard with a mx 400 video card and an old 12 gig WD hard drive with a 12X lg burner and it worked like a charm

so i setup all the hardware and then boot up and then i boot off the cd... start installing xp (this hard drive has some backup data on it so i did not format it) so it goes and copies all the files and then when it reboots it goes to boot off the hard drive and all i get is a blinking underscore cursor i have no idea why it does this it works fine with that 13 gig drive.. a while back i tried it with my quantam 30 gig and it did the same thing as the maxtor 80 gig any ideas ppl? thanks
