Usually can count on some good ideas here, so here goes:

Recently purchased a ECS K7S5A & 950 Duron combo. Tested it for 4 days -- no problems.
Decided to switch the Duron into my Iwill KK266 which had been running great for almost a year with a 1 Gig T-bird. ECS and T-Bird work fine but I have no video output with the Duron and Iwill KK266.

So far have reseated the video card 4x's, the cpu 3x's and the mb in case 2x's. System powers on ok including cpu fan, mb lights and hd is powered but no video output or beeps. Tried 2 video cards .. .Geforce2 GTS and TNT Ultra.

What next?? Thanks.

Try clearing the BIOS w/ the onboard jumper.

Any jumpers for FSB setting on this board? If so make sure you are down to 100 and not at 133, which it may have been at for the TBird

From what you've said, it doesn't sound like a problem w/ the MB or the CPU, as both worked before, just
in different combos, right?

It sounds like you need to make sure the power and other case connections are properly connected and
make sure you clear the BIOS again, just to be sure.

Video fault will usually cause a beep, so it probably isn't that, either.

Last weekend while I was building my new rig, I had a similar problem- it was cleared once I cleared the
BIOS by setting the jumper, unplugging the PS and letting it sit for a while. Fired up right away once I
did this, although my problem was because the BIOS wouldn't recognize the Athlon XP and it wouldn't
POST. Once I got it to POST w/ failsafe defaults, I could flash the BIOS and fix the problem. Maybe the BIOS
settings are wrong so it won't pass POST.

cleanerPA,
Thanks and good to hear from a fellow Pennsylvanian!
I cleared the Bios twice but will give it one more go tomorrow. I have all the case cables and connections disconnected except for main power supply and connecter to power button. I just want the bare minimum connected to reduce possible conflicts. I'm starting to think that the cpu is not seating properly but I don't know how to "fix" it. Looks like I'll have to try the Duron in my ECS board just to rule out a dead cpu. Had hoped that I wouldn't have to pull from the working system ... no big deal I guess.

reseat the ram (if its not in all the way your pc will do nothing)
for that matter i unhook all the drive, take out all the pci cards, and reseat the cpu, ram, and video card

also make sure when you installed the motherboard isnt shorting on one of the standoffs for mounting the board.

another idea, hehe and dont take offence :) but make sure its plugged in right, and make sure that the power supply switch is turned on(not all power supplys have a switch)

also make sure the power button on the case is plugged correctly on the motherboard(and make sure the power button even works)

just some ideas... heck its probably all stuff you have already checked :)

yeah, I know a lot of people who have the LED and reset and power leads plugged into the pinout block on the motherboard wrong. Sometimes these bards have special sleep headers that my friends seem to plug reset switches into. I usually start with just the power switch. I like the pior idea of reseating everything. Start with the lowest possible configuration (RAM, CPU, VIDEO, etc) then add up if it works...good luck
