Note: Read through all updates or you wont understand the problem.

- This is for this PC:

DFI NF4 Infinity Ultra . . . . AMD 144 Opteron (288x9) . . . . ATI X1800XT
Antec 480W TruePower2 . . . . Audigy 2 ZS . . . . . . . 2x1GB G.Skill PC3200
--------------------------------------------------------
Water Cooling Setup: Swiftech MCR220 Radiator | AquaXtreme 50Z Pump
Aqua Xtreme MP-1 GPU Block | Aqua Xtreme MP-1 CPU Block | MasterKleer 7/16"

Everything was fine earlier today, then I left (and shut off the pc) for about five hours and I come back and the PC wont start? it turns on (all the fans and the WC pump) for a second then shuts off. I tried resetting the cmos and taking out the battery but still no boot. Thought maybe the PSU was randomly under too much load so tried unplugging a few things (dvd drive, fans) still no go. Is it shorting out? Is the PSU fuxxord? I don't see how it's fine one moment then without messing with anything after a few hours it wont start? Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

I have a crap generic case psu I could test with I guess. My PSU is not even a year old though.

UPDATE 1: I tried the old psu and that had the same problem. So the PSU is fine.

Switching RAM/only use one module did not work either.

I guess Ill have to take everything out of the case.

UPDATE 2: After thinking about a possible short I realized that a few days ago when I re-sat my cpu waterblock I forgot to put a plastic spacer between the head of the screw and the mobo. Also the screw head was very thick and was slightly warping the mobo.

I went to the hardware store and got some screws with thinner heads and took out the mobo and put the new screws in with spacers.

It is working again now. I just didn't realize that right away because the pc worked for a few days before screwing up.

UPDATE 3: GUYS I AM VERY CONFUSED.

The computer worked fine all through yesterday after I fixed it and I turned it off last night. This morning it is having the exact same problem (turning one for one second then shutting off). Any ideas?

AFTER WASTING MY TIME taking everything out and cleaing it all off, I removed the processor and it didn't shut right off (I turned it of after a few seconds). Is there anyway to "fix" the cpu?

It is naked (No IHS) but has been working for 6 months strong.

NVM fixed.
