I am experiencing random disconections on my dsl line. lasting 2min to 3hrs. I called my Ip and they said it is me or the phone company. the basis for this statement is that if there was a problem everyone else would be calling complaining
My provider is using bridged network.. meaning my dsl modem/router is running in bridge mode
sytem is setup like this cisco678(latest firmware)----dlink704 (dslrouter)----linux server, main machine, and home entertainment machine, all runnin in from a seperate switched port on the 704
I know I am getting disconnected for sure cause I cant access the internet and my icq flower turns brown.
The home entertainment machine cannot access the net either when this happens
The last 2 times this has happend I unplugged the power on the cisco and waited 10 sec. reconnected and after power up sequence all is well for while.
I am getting ready to switch IP's but would feel bad if I did it and I didnt do all could do to ensure it was there issue not mine or the telco.
Any suggestions or insite would be welcome.
