Boot into NOrton ghost to apply an image?

Ok, when you read this make the assumption that I've tried EVERYTHING I've read about how to do it because i have.... 🙂

Problem in a nutshell... Looking to keep some ghost images on an external hard drive and have that hard drive be bootable TO GHOST, so that those images can be loaded up on new laptops as they come in.

GIve me any thoughts.... The famous HP utility did nothing for me... Finally I went through the DOS process of fdisk, format, and Fdisk /mbr to get the hard drive bootable. (Havent tested it yet).

But what else do I need to make it boot into GHOST specifically to load an image that will be stored on the hard drive?

I realize this is REALLY general, but throw me any ideas.

If the drive boots into DOS, add the path to Ghost to the autoexec.bat file (i.e. c:\Ghost\Ghost.exe). Add any switches and parameters that you might need.
