I had Win 2000 on my box. Than I instlal Win XP Pro , but leave current partittion not change. Now when I boot to the system I have choise: between Win XP and Win 2000.

How can I remove Win 2000 OS and make just Win XP default system.

P.S
When I choose Win 2000 it doesn't boot to Win 2000, because Win 2000 is not exist anymore.

I know that on Win 2000 I need to modify boot.in file but in Win Xp Pro no such file.

What file I need to modify?

Thanks

The boot.ini is still there, but you can't see it by default in Windows XP. You can see it in Windows Explorer if you go into the Folder Options dialog and set Explore to show hidden files and folder AND if you uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" in the scrollable window list.

Or, you can right-click on My Computer, select Properties, select the Advanced tab, click on the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery section on that tab, and click on the Edit button to edit the boot.ini file. You could just uncheck the "Time to display list of operating systems" item if all you want to do is to prevent the display of the boot menu.
