Boot from USB DVD Drive

Anyone know if I can boot from a USB DVD Drive? I want to install Fedora, and though 1 DVD May Be easier than 6 CDs, but I am not sure if it is possible. Figure it would be good to find out before I download!

DVD Drive is Plextor PX-740UF, Computer is an Old Socket A w/ Athlon 1600. I can get more details if they are helpful. Thanks!

Some newer BIOSes support booting from USB. If so, the device usually has to be a Floppy or a HDD rather than an ATAPI device (optical, etc.) as those require a whole other layer of software support.

If your BIOS supports USB boot - it's possible. If not - no.
