Boot from a USB thumb drive?

but...

you must be able to toggle your cmos to boot from it. if that option isn't available for your computer, then no.
 
It should work - my computers can boot off of a USB floppy. But as the post above me says, you have to check in the BIOS for an option to boot from an external drive or peripheral.
