boot error

HI my system was running for a over a week now stable and evertynig. ITs a 2.2 3700 oc'ed to 2.7 on stock voltage p95 stable for 15 hours no errors. All of a sudden this morning it would not boot because it could nto detect the sata hard drive. It goes and says like hard disk error "please insert boot disk and press enter". IS there any solutino to this or do i HAVE to reformat. ANy specific reasons u guys can u think of this so I can avoid it in the future?

Not much experience with SATA but I think you have to lock your SATA ports at a certain frequency when you overclock. If you didn't do so you may have damaged your drive. Someone else with more experience needs to chime in here tho. GL.

Could be a corruption of the MBR. Try the MBR fix. Seagate has a utility that will restore the DEFAULT MBR for the Seagate HDD.

i think i found the solution, i switched from sata port from 4 to 2 and windows booted up find and everything. Mustve been something faulty with with sata 4, is this potentially bad, switching sata ports like that?
