I did a fresh install of a maxtor 40gb hdd on the ecs k7s5a board, with win98se. I fdisked and formated c. I rebooted at each step. Loaded win98. On reboot hardware wizard finds pci serial controller and searches for drivers. I used the lan drivers from ocworkbenc sl112.exe and reboot. on boot up I get the following error: says someting about registry not finding the above mentioned .vxd files. I let wiz search both the win98 cd and mobo cd. I am stumped. any help would be greatly appriciated.

Hi Slowjoe this is easy to fix. The files that reg cant find are win networking files.
Two things can cause this 1, wrong drivers installed for a device, or 2, improperly installed device drivers for a nic card. I'm assuming that is what U are trying to install. FIX first remove all network devices and protos. remove everything dont worry windoz will reinstall the things U need when U get the nic in. In network neighborhood click ok when done it will ask to restart click no or cancel then go to device manager and remove the device that U installed it may show up as network device or pci device with asterisk. then shut down and remove the card. start system let it boot hen shut down and install card again this time use the correct drivers dint drivers come with it although I think U should check manufacturer for updated drivers.
