Boot Error on New System w/ Win2k Pro

Hi,
System: Athlon
MB: ASUS K7V KT133 - Ultra100

I just bought a new system w/ a preformatted HDD. The vendor formatted the HDD in fat32 and it booted to dos.

I booted off a Win2k Pro CDROM and installed Win2k Pro. Everyone went okay except a error with the ATA driver, which I fix according with the help of people from this forum.

I have a new program. When I boot up my system, I get an error that says, "DISK BOOT FAILURE. INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." When I pressed enter, the system goes into the Win2k Pro bootmanager and then into Win2k. Does anyone know what's going on, and what I can do to fix it? Thanks

Hi,

Thanks. I think the ASUS K7V will give the error if one disable the disk virus protection. This only applies to the Ultra-ATA HDD.
