i dont know if this is a motherboard problem or hard drive or XP problem well heres what happens

i have a new intel 850gb motherboard and a P4 1.7 w/ 512mb of RDRam w/ 80gig Maxtor HD
i have a Legit Copy of XP Professional

I run the XP setup and it goes through the first part of setup flawlessly then comes the reboot if i leave the CD in it starts the 1st part of setup all over again. if i take the cd out i get "Boot Drive Error: System Haulted" and i have not been able to fix this i have updated the bios and tried everything

When the machine starts back up, go into the BIOS and change the first boot drive to your HDD. Then exit saving changes and let it boot up again. Tell us what happens.
