Step 2. Create a pure bootable diskette by including only the Drvspace*.bin file, Io.sys and the AWDFLASH.EXE onto the diskette. This program only works in pure DOS environment, the utility can not be worked in win95/98/ ME/NT/2000/XP.

Step 3. Insert the diskette into drive A; reboot your system from the disk.

Step 4. Type Awdflash *.bin /sn/py/cc and then press "ENTER"to run BIOS upgrade program. (*.bin depends on your Mainboard Model and version code). Instead of typing *.bin, you should replace the * with the specific .bin file name for your Mainboard.

I cannot find Io.sys (however, I do have ntio.sys). Should I use the ntio.sys file?

Do you have you file system settings set to hide your system & hidden files ?
file/options or something.
I got SALAM14.ZIP and it's a norton commander type 2 panel file manipulator view/edit thingie.
It's a freebee on the net & a must (for me any way)
It's usefull for copying files that MS won't even let you see.
Look for Edit Pad Lite
using a google search, it works well in Salam14.

I use attrib.exe to alter msdos.sys
attrib msdos.sys -r -h -s
removes the read only, system, hidden attributes
from my batch file, then it renames it msdos.win
and makes my msdos.dos file the new msdos.sys
ren msdos.dos msdos.sys
attrib +s +r +h msdos.sys
type autoexec.dos > autoexec.bat
type config.dos > config.sys

any way, a little batch file like that will swap your Win98 or WinME to STRAIGHT DOS
and you reboot to a DOS that handles large hard drives and you can see and alter any file in windows.
I use old Norton Commander & E16.COM a large file editor NetFreeBee

Well, maybe there's something in there that's usefull to you ?
