Am picking up kid from summer camp, a 1.3K mile RT or so, got a rental car since I hate to drive my truck that far and the Miatas are a bit cramped with 3 people.

They gave me a Mitsu Gallant, 4 cylinder engine, it's the most boring thing I've driven in years...

I rented a Dodge Charger last week (5 days) fun car! A little low on power, a 3.6l V6 won't move a car that big very fast.

I've been hitting PT Cruiserville most of my rental's lately. Maybe I'll up it this week and see if they will work me a great deal on a convertible

Last couple rentals I've been in have been Impalas.

about $90 for the weekend, it was nice to flog the shit outta someone else's car. It was almost = to what I would have paid for fuel in the F250, plus I'll let them clean out all the beach sand out of the carpet...

There are groups of cars on the TX interstates that stay together & run 80-90, I hung with them all the way back & forth.

I wanna run back down & do a fishing charter soon or take a sailing lesson...

Last summer I got a "Chevrolet Classic" as a rental. They rebadged the previous-gen Chevy Malibus that they stopped selling to the public in 2003 as "Classics" and kept selling them as fleet vehicles through 2006. Now that was a sweet car!

Picked up a '99 Toyota Camery as a local driver for my wife, I call the Toyota 'The Most Boring Car In The World'

Sing along people . . "Its the most boring car in the world"

Refrain, "Bordom, bordom'

Again, "It's the most boring car in the world"

"You know it people"

Repeat . . .

Boring is better than 'OH MY GOD this is the biggest piece of crap ever made', ala Dodge Neon.

That's why you get an SRT-4 :D At least it's a piece of crap that moves at a good clip.

Not that surprising when most rental agencies stock 90% American cars. Not that American cars are all boring, just the agencies choosing to stock the most boring ones.

No, that would be a Chevy Aveo.
Only car I have ever driven that bounced over speed bumps.

I had that for a rental once and it's a horrible road trip car. Not enough power for mountain passes on the Interstate and mileage in the low 20s. My Matrix and Neon rentals could go 80 up the same passes and get 28-30mpg. The Matrix was pretty close in interior room too.

now THOSE are boring.

I rent a whole bunch of cars on business trips, and trust me the Impala is WAYYYY better than the ford tarus. I love an Impala compared to that car.

I rent a lot of Accords when I travel for business ... and BOY are they boring. I considered buying one but after renting them a number of times I couldn't justify it. I would have died driving myself bored.

At least they are comfortable, safe, reliable, and reasonably fuel efficient. A good choice for a rental, or purchase to those who don't care if they're boring.

I have a Buick LeSabre now, and man it's boring too. Decent power from the 3800, great comfort, pretty reliable, but lots of cosmetic/interior things are falling apart, and did I mention it's boring as hell?

arkaign,

i agree but what really confuses me is how much more fun the Civic is to drive than the Accord. I guess the Civic was design for a younger crowd while the Accord is produced for a more "mature" audience.
