Question for all you monster gamers out there: Have you tried the Boomslang 2000 gaming mouse? It is supposed to be the best gaming mouse available. How do you like it compared to a good optical mouse?

Thanks,

i prefer my intellimouse explorer to my razor boomslang. the feel of the boomslang is odd, even after getting used to it, and i think it is less precise than my optical mouse. also, i think karna is having fincancial problems (i forget where i heard this), so support my not be forthcoming.

I wanted to get a couple of opinions before I stated my experience. I like it OK, but I don't see much advantage over my Mouseman Optical in speed and accuracy. I thought the 2000 DPI would really be much more accurate, but I can't say that I noticed it.

Also, it is a little big for my fingers. At work, I have an MS Mouse w/ IntelliEye. This is the right-, left-hand specific predecessor of the current MS Intellimouse. I really like it, but all I can find are the newer, ambidextrous Intellimice.

I love my BS2K with my Ratpad, your arse is mine :) but it takes time to get used to it, also since the company dies last month i would think that anyone moving to XP shouldn't expect an update. The mouse has a learning curve that i can explain based on different person, but it is well worth it.

I love mine!! A few months ago mine broke & I had to use a Logitech optical & I HATED it! Went through some major Boomslang withdrawls. Thank goodness I got mine fixed just in time :)

I love the razor, it works as a great security device

all my friends are scared to touch it since I praise it so much, and they CAN NOT control it. I use an everglide and that was deffinetly worth it with a mouse like the razor. My hands are a lot bigger than most so the mouse actually feels right. Out of my little group of UT addicts I am easily the best sniper, I would say a good part of that is the razor. All hail razor!

Informant X: I know I'm dating myself every time I post (which isn't all that much anymore--working 12 hrs. per day) I created the sig before the "My Rig" option was available.

I'm sure the mouse is cool and all however

1) The company is in finical troubles, and may not be around much longer
2) The average lifespan of a boomslang is like 6-8 months. They break SOOO much. However I have a 7 year old logitech that still works great.

I have a boomslang2K that I use with a Ratpadz mouse pad. I've never seen anything so precise and accurate in my life. If your a hardcore FPS gamer, you'll love this mouse.

I have a 1000 that someone is letting me borrow on a permanent basis until their company wants it back. I really like it. I've had it for some time, but I don't think that I'd buy one on my own since I don't play many games anymore. I had a crap mousepad and still kicked serious arse at games like Q3A and UT. It feels good. I like having 5 buttons to do with whatever I want. The only thing I don't like is that the buttons are either for gaming or for office work, not both. It would be better if you could have them customizable in any program.

but that's just mho
