"Boombox" (Portable Stereo) for IPod Classic

I received an IPod Classic for Christmas, and an iLive Portable Docking System.

I unboxed the dock, and 1) there's no "adapter" for my Classic, so it doesn't fit in the slot well and 2) it sounds like crapola... like the speakers are muffled... even the radio play sounded bad.

So I'm going to return/exchange it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement.

I'd like similar features if possible, but it doesn't need to be an exact match.

Thanks.

How about the iGroove? http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/igroove.aspx

Nice. :)

Let me set a budget... lol

The iGroove SXT is closer to my budget, but I'd like to stay around $100 if possible.

Klipsch refurb store has the refurbed iGroove HG for $100...although I'm not quite sure how well refurbished those are and what the differences between all the models are either.

There's an old Altec Lansing tube thing that used to sound AWESOME..I even heard the thing myself....it had it's problems but it was portable.

Google it...
