Since summertime is in full effect and the beach has been calling my name, can anyone recommend a good boombox with mp3 capabilities, that can take a bit of a beating?

No, I hate it when some asshat is sitting on the beach blasting some crappy songs on their boom box. Please leave the bloody thing at home!

i dont plan on playing that kind of music. I will play very quiet carribean style music to emulate the feel of a carribean island. It sounds silly but last weekend some one was doing this and it was so relaxing!

That's why God invented headphones. You can listen to the music that you find relaxing without anyone else having to do so, seeing as they might find other music relaxing, or no music at all.

Somewhere around #1,400,000 if you go by the literalist concept that the Earth was created around 4000 years ago.

Jeez! That literalist concept of the Earth's age keeps getting smaller and smaller.
I remember a video in church that said "the Earth is generally agreed to be about 10,000 years old." I chuckled out loud at that one, because in every science book I ever read, they put that number at somewhere between 2 and 4.5 billion years old.
Later, I heard from some fundie zealot that the Earth is, in fact, 6,000 years old.
And now it's down to 4,000 years?![]()

You are supposed to point out that 1.4M days for 4000 years does not reflect leap years.

But yeah, leave it at home unless of course you're going to a very open, sparsely populated beach.
Sux cause yesterday it was over 30 C here and gorgeous. I planned on going down to the beach for the entire day with a 6 pack of beer and a book and just lazing around... but it's cloudy![]()
