Put people in a plane for 4 hours. Move the plane to an artificial set. Let people out for a few hours, put them back on the plane and put it back on original spot.

According to their website

"Final ticket prices will be set by airlines, but we’re designing Overture so that airlines will be able to offer fares similar to today's long-haul, business-class travel. Our ultimate vision is to reduce operating costs to make supersonic flight even more widely affordable and accessible."

That means $5k+, and certainly without large seats you get in long haul business class. The carbon-neutral garbage is pretty funny.

I work in the industry and this company is relatively mature, though I give them a low chance of making it long term. At least they're better than the profusion of flying car companies... I get unsolicited interview requests for them every few months.

back when the concorde was still a thing and a london - NYC ticket cost the (minimum) equivalent of three thousand american dollah, they were barely scraping by. AFAIK Air France saw the concorde as a means to publicity rather than profit.
it doesnt matter how advanced you think modern material are, there is still a massive increase in stress, which comes with expensive maintenance. Staff is more expensive, fuel is more expensive, and it seats less people.

It also carries less cargo, another way airlines get money on passenger flights.

That's right, they carry less cargo too.

Modern airplanes - say, compared to what was flying in the 80s - are actually WORSE. They are being designed with such things as efficiency, durability, ease of serviceability in mind, not with comfort or speed. The key is to get the airplane to operate with as little expense as possible because hey, these are commercial vehicles. Back in the 70s there was still a push to get people on airplanes, they don't need that anymore. So no more high frequency air circulation, comfortable seats, sexy stewardesses, and free **** cocktails in a glass.

.. my god .. Pan Am was such a dream ... i flew Rome - New York in 1987 as unaccompanied minor, smoked all the way through the flight, had two free martini (with olives), and had about as much legroom as you have today in an entire row of Easyjet.

Anybody want to take a guess on how much a flight on these airplanes will actually cost, assuming that they somehow get to commercial service?

I'm betting $15,000 minimum for a round trip to LA to Tokyo or Sydney and back. After what happened to those passengers on the Concorde, the insurance costs alone would drive the price over a standard passenger flight.

This is definitely an investor scam.

Some contractors I know that bounce from one pipie dream to another were just hired by boom. That's all the proof I need this is just another pipe dream.
