I'm looking to read a book that has a kinda laid back/ interesting narrative voice. One example would be "The Catcher in the Rye" -any suggestions?

The Computer Connection by Alfred Bester.

Arcadia by Tom Stoppard. It's a play but still rocks. Septimus is The MAN!

Normally don't read fiction but I'm 120 pages into The Shipping News by Annie Proulx.

Very good writing style, not a particularly happy story but full quick imagery and great narrative voice(as you put it).

Five stars, it did win a Pulitzer Prize. :)

btw, I never saw the movie.

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. A good read, and laid back.
