Bookmarks missing

XP Home, w/sp2. Half of my book marks are missing. I looked in my "favorites" folder and they are not in there either. It's like it reverted back to a year ago. I rebooted and that didn't help and I am the only user profile on this computer. What could have happened? I don't back up that folder. Can I get them back?
