yea so I have a final in the morning, and PT before that.. and i've spent the last hour and a half trying both expedia and orbitz to create a series of flights that will work around my schedule.

im heading to Virginia Beach, VA from March 15th (or 16th) to March 22nd.

my plan has 2 parts:
- trip one:
- head out from Port Columbus(CMH), here in Columbus, OH
- arrive in Norfolk, VA (ORF)
- trip two:
- head out from ORF
- arrive in Detroit (DTW)

the time issues:
if on thursday, 'trip one' needs to be in the afternoon (after at least 1pm) (if on friday, earlier in the morning if possible, so my sister can pick me up)

'trip two' needs to arrive in Detroit after as close to 7pm as possible, to be able to get a ride from my parents

getting a flight to Detroit at the right time isn't the difficult part, its getting the flight to Norfolk at the right time that is proving to be impossible. i can only find early morning thursday flights, or evening flights on friday.... i would do early morning thursday, however I got a final that ends at 1130am.

if anyone can help and direct me to a good flight, that would be great.

btw, my original plan was to take a Greyhound from Columbus to Virginia Beach, then discovered that the cost would be around $55 for a single trip. cheap, yes... but combine that with a flight to Detroit from Norfolk, that runs around $120... combined charge being around $180... then well... a two-flight package that runs around $200-230 as most were is not an unreasonable upgrade, and is worth the convenience of removing an 18-hour bus ride from the trip.

You can't fly anywhere inexpensively in march since so many college kids are on spring break. Believe me. I was trying to find the cheapest way to las vegas. Lowest price i found for a pair of tickets was $600

there really isn't anything you can do. other than wait until april.

You want a multiple city itinerary and you want it cheap during a very busy time of year.

What is you budget? Is priceline still in business?

Search for a multi-city itinerary at Orbitz. It lets you be pretty specific about departure times. You'll need to back into the 7pm arrival time by subracting the flight time from any time difference. But I can't imagine there's a ton of flights in Columbus so you'll need to be flexible in departure time if low cost is your big priority.

That itinerary is certainly doable (I found plenty of flights that match), but not for 220 bucks. More like 350-380.

alright well thanks... im going to have to talk to my sister and figure out a sound and secure plan... i was able to make flight plans for 250 so I guess I was able to manipulate the system a little more.

and can't wait until april, because im visiting my sister for my spring break (16th-25th)

About 320 on Southwest...

Look, your times are doable, but it is going to cost over 300 dollars.

Well, you aren't going to be able to do it for 250, and prices are only going to rise, so you better book it soon if you want to do it.

For 350 I can get your exact times.

Found something for 228$, but it would require you leaving at 7PM on the 16th, and you wouldn't arrive until 8PM.

The Detroit Leg is exactly what you want (arriving at 7:49PM).
