Book- "Rich Dad, poor Dad"

try googling John T Reed. I believe he rakes this guy over the coals. I recall that the local paper (Honolulu Times?) from the author's hometown investigated the people from whom he draws inspiration and determined that they didnt exist.

Why would it matter? He is selling a theory on life. Like everyone else's theory, there are things that make sense and things that don't. Extract what makes sense and discard what doesn't.

Read the stuff, learn what you can, but don't go overboard.

Who cares if this is his true life story? If his made-up stories can teach you stuff and help you get ahead in life, then his stories have value.

He's running a business - the business of getting people to buy his books, seminars, etc. He uses those stories as part of his business plan. Do you really believe that, for example, Budweiser really has frogs talking about it? Then why do you have a problem with some dude telling stories that might help you learn something about how money-making really works?

The part that annoys me is that he (and the other get-rich-quick-or-slow gurus) is making a lot of money off people who are never going to actually get off their butts and use the information. His stories at least keep people interested long enough to actually read the whole book, and maybe some of it will sink in.
