I've been in IT for about 7 years full time now. I want to get my MCSE cert b/c the company will pay for it (the tests and books and possibly the Boot Camp) and b/c MCSE is just nice to have on the ol resume. I think the boot camp would be the fastest and easiest way to get MCSE but not sure if the company will pay that much or if i honestly want to go through 2 weeks of it and may not retain all the info.

Is it really hard to read the books and study for MCSE? I'm fairly smart and remember a lot of what I read quite easily.

Plus I don't want to push for them to pay for my MCSE boot camp b/c I'd rather they help pay for my Master's Degree as I think most everyone will agree a Master's probably looks better than an MCSE ;)

Get one of those Certkiller test preps. Memorize all the questions and take the test.

If you have worked with the products for any length of time, then you should be able to hit the books and knock it out without going the boot camp route. If you haven't worked with them much, start. Get some 180 day eval copies if you don't already have them and set up a lab (either physical or virtual). Spend some time under the hood, and reinforce that with reading.
