Because ATMs for a drive through and a banks are both made by the same companies, or at least use the same buttons, so they just copy them over.

That a real question or a 'why do we drive on the parkway' type?

Fast replies. Anyway it's what he said and also because blind people don't like to give away their PIN or hand their card over any more than the rest of us. The person driving them around may or may not be that trusted.

I always just assumed that it was made to accomodate the blind people in the backseat who needed some quick cash. But your explanation makes more sense.

Funny, I never thought of that, even though I made the same association by myself concerning the "why are lethal injection needles sterilized" question (answer: because they're made on an assembly line along with the needles for hospitals)
