Are there places that take book donations? I have a bunch of old textbooks, answer manuals, other books that I want to get rid of but I do not want to just put them in the trash. Any ideas where I can donate these? Do libraries take such donations?

Nope they are older editions. Damn Purdue professors think it is fun to adapt a new edition every damn semester.

There's lots of places. I did a used book drive for my Eagle Scout project (collected several thousand magazines and books). I think I ended up donating them to the Salvation Army, a children's shelter, a center for victims of domestic violence, and possibly a library. It's been several years, so I can't remember for sure. There are places, though. I'd definitely try the Salvation Army.
