the reason it started so late is cause its a race in prime time so they can do it under the lights...since the sun dont go down here in AZ till around 7pm...and we dont have DST....well its going to be pretty late

it started on time according to my schedules

No...it was started later than expected because of the rain that came through.

Edit: yes it is a night race, but it was delayed from the scheduled start time.

Really? I didn't watch much of the pre-race. I thought it was because of the few rain cells we had come through. For some reason i thought it was supposed to start before 5:15.
