I haven't played a good psychadelic game in a while.. the kind of 3d game that consists of vehicular movement past an environment with non-standard lighting, colors, etc...

like..

Desent 3
San Francisco Rush 2049
Shogo
Need for Speed: High Stakes (the later ones lost some of the bright colors)
Twisted Metal 2 (a personal favorite)
Tron 2.0
Wipeout 2
Mario Kart Double Dash
Unreal Tournament.. 2k3, 2k4
Quake 3

I'm thinking of starting Desent Freespace.. Though, every time I started it, I could never keep focused long enough to learn how to play it.

I swear.. I love video games.. but none hold my interest long enough unless they're really colorful - like an acid trip.

Almost all of the games lately try to be realistic and thus the graphics aren't as pretty, imo. Like, Half Life 2 had awesome graphics.. But it was a depressing atmosphere.

Freespace and Freespace 2 are great games for the genre. Hang in there try them out, you'll likely enjoy them.

Yeah, they're pretty much a completely different game from Descent. And it doesnt seem too colorful or "psychedelic".

The funhouse level in Max Payne 2 is pretty interesting.
Alice is a trippy game.

I'm gettin pretty sic of this realism crap myself. Developers need to stop trying to make sh!t so cinematic and life-like and remember that games should be games. They need to be out there in terms of design and inspire a sense of WTF?

yeah that's the truth, nothing wrong with pretty graphics but they need to work on better gameplay. although farcry is a lot of fun, I just started playing it this weekend.

i sort of disagree. while i dont want realistic games, one of the reasons i stopped playing FPS is because no matter how realistic they started, they all seemed to degenerate into alien-demon fighting.
im thinking serious sam 2 will be sort of light. you just need to look for the right games...or even the right system. ps2 is not the place to find a whole lot of light games, gamecube is. the pc has a wide variety and the posts saying to check out psychonauts should be considered.

I was'nt recommending it for the OP just stating it's a fun game. Actually I seldom play fps I'm more of a rts/rp type gamer.

I liked Farcry.
Then they introducted mutant/genetic experiment things, and I thought "No, this sucks, I want a game with people all the way through, or not at all".
I promptly stopped playing then uninstalled it. There was no real need for the retarded mutant things, it made the whole game a bit stupid.

You don't have Extreme G3 on that list. Go play that game on xbox or ps2. It's crazy fast and is really fun.

Also check out Burnout Revenge. Pretty unrealistic and fast racing.

Ultimate Spider-man looks pretty insane, I wanna try that. X-men Legends II is gonna be pretty badass too, PC version has on and off-line co-op.
